Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary:

Denali Water Solutions is looking for a Mechanic who can diagnose and repair simple and complex mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance tasks for our Heavy Equipment and Vehicles. The successful candidate will be able to use state-of-the-art computer diagnostic equipment to pinpoint issues and develop a cost-effective solution for each Unit we operate. The ideal applicant will have exceptional mechanical skills and be willing to work with management and operations to achieve their specific needs. This position is responsible for safe and efficient maintenance and repair of composting and heavy equipment.The position reports directly to the Operations Manager.Benefits package available for full time employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Management to understand their concerns and properly diagnose issues
  • Produce accurate and itemized work estimates for Management
  • Maintain Equipment according to Manufacturer's Preventative Maintenance Schedules and according to the needs of the Company per Management
  • Utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment to accurately pinpoint issues, when necessary
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and alert Management to issues that will prevent their equipment from performing optimally or passing necessary vehicle inspections
  • Complete daily inspection reports, safety meetings and time reporting paperwork
  • Keep work areas organized and clean
  • Maintain professional appearance and use personal protection equipment (PPE) when required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required (associate degree preferred)
  • Familiarity with the latest vehicle diagnostic equipment
  • Must possess ASE Diesel Mechanic or equivalent certification
  • Must be able to follow direction and use industry standard safety precautions when working on equipment
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Valid driver's license

Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience performing Heavy Equipment, Diesel Mechanic Service work
  • Experience working with composting equipment a plus
